The blade is made of 5CR15MOV steel, which has a decent hardness of 54 HRC. That hardness means the steel is hard enough to maintain its cutting edge for a long time, while also being soft enough to sharpen with ease. The steel has good stain- and corrosion resistance and it has excellent wear resistance thanks to the titanium nitride finish.
The grip on this SOG Adventurer LB Blackout pocket knife consists of two GRN (glass-reinforced nylon) scales which are rather lightweight while boasting a good hardness. They can take a hit and are perfectly suited for rough work. GRN has an inherent resistance to moisture, which also makes the pocket knife suitable for outdoor use.
